Hello SEKSPA members-

During SEKSPA’s Quarterly Meeting on October 29, the membership was presented with the following motion: “…a motion for the President to appoint a by-laws Committee to review and make revisions to our by-laws for the membership to consider.” The motion was seconded, voted on and approved.

The by-laws committee is composed of Chris Pierce, Jessica Madison, Guy Taylor, Will Bowling, Lester Brashear, Brenda Richardson, Larry Brashear, Emily Merritt and myself.

We have composed new by-laws that we believe will be a significant improvement over our initial by-laws and will provide transparency and predictability in the workings of our Association. Click on this link to see the proposed draft by-laws.  (Old draft link removed)

We invite each SEKSPA member to review the proposed draft by-laws and provide your comments and suggestions by December 15. Please send your comments to me at my contact information below. If you are okay with these changes, there is no need to reply.

After a two-week comment period (ending December 15th), the committee will consider the comments and suggestions and address each of them in writing. The committee will send out the final draft to the membership by December 28 and we will vote to accept or not to accept the revised by-laws during our next Quarterly Meeting scheduled for January 28, 2021.
