Save the date of Thursday, January 28th @ 7:30 PM for the Southeast Kentucky Sheep Producers Association’s next virtual meeting. It will be a ZOOM meeting with the option to telephone in. We’ll send out an agenda, hookup instructions and a call-in number a couple days before our call.

Hello SEKSPA members-

As you know, during SEKSPA’s Quarterly Meeting on October 29, the membership was presented with the following motion:  “…a motion for the President to appoint a by-laws Committee to review and make revisions to our by-laws for the membership to consider.” The motion was seconded, voted on and approved.

The by-laws committee is composed of Chris Pierce, Jessica Madison, Guy Taylor, Will Bowling, Lester Brashear, Brenda Richardson, Larry Brashear, Emily Merritt and myself.

On November 28, we sent out new draft by-laws and invited each SEKSPA member to review them and provide your comments and suggestions by December 15. During the comment period, we received only the two following short written comments:

• “Looks perfect to me”
• “I just did a quick read and caught a repeated sentence on Page 6, Section 2: ‘The Board may meet more frequently as needed to conduct business.’ is in there twice. Otherwise, it looks good.”

The committee has corrected the typo pointed out in the second comment above and is now asking the membership for their final review.

We will vote to accept or not to accept the attached revised by-laws during our next Quarterly Meeting scheduled for January 28, 2021.
