January 2022 SEKSPA Annual Meeting
The January 29, 2022 Annual Meeting of the Southeast Kentucky Sheep Producers Association was a remarkable success with 180 participants!
Despite an ice and snow storm, sheep farmers from as far away as Carter and Greenup County in the northeast and Allen and Wayne Counties in the southwest turned out for SEKSPA’s Annual Meeting on January 29th!
Dr. Ryan Quarles, Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture was SEKSPA’s Keynote Speaker
Mr. Chase Adams, Senior Policy and information Director, American Sheep Industry Association, Washington, DC spoke about how our region fits into the national and international sheep industry picture.
Dr. Jessica Madison, noted Appalachian Historian made a fascinating and inspiring presentation on the history of sheep in the mountains of eastern Kentucky.
